Ruma is a technology company built to change how homeowners experience home services. We use software to remove every friction point that traditionally made this category painful.
The problem we're solving
Booking a home service has always required too much from homeowners. Calls to multiple contractors. Waiting days for someone to come out and measure. Getting one quote, then another, then trying to compare them. Half the time, someone doesn't show up.
Platforms like Angi tried to fix this — but they solved for lead generation, not delivery. The homeowner still ends up coordinating directly with a contractor they know nothing about.
Ruma owns the full transaction. We set the price, we manage the contractor, and we track every step of the job. The homeowner never has to coordinate anything.
How we're different
Minutes, not hours
The average homeowner spends 4–6 hours getting quotes for a paint job. Phone calls, no-shows, waiting on callbacks. Ruma compresses that to a few minutes. Upload photos, get a price, book.

You see your price before you commit. You see photo-verified progress at every stage of the job. No wondering what's happening at your house.
Zero human coordination
You never speak to a contractor. If something needs attention, you message through Ruma. We handle the rest. The entire relationship stays on-platform.
Where we operate
Ruma is currently available in Austin, Texas, focused on exterior house painting. We chose Austin deliberately — the demographics, the housing stock, and the year-round painting season make it the ideal place to prove out the model.
We're starting focused. One city, one service, done exceptionally well. From there, we'll expand.
